You are hereby summoned to attend the next meeting of West Ashby Parish Council, which will be held on Wednesday 20th July 2022 commencing at 7.30pm this meeting will be held in the village hall and also by Zoom.

The business to be dealt with at the meeting is listed in the agenda below, this is the Annual Parish Council meeting.

There will be a 15 minute public forum between 7.30 and 7.45 when members of the public may ask questions or make short statements to the Council, and your attendance is also requested during this period.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA

1.   Chairman’s Remarks

2.   Apologies for absence and reasons given

3.   Declaration of interest – in accordance with the 2000 Local Government Act

4.   Notes of the meetings –18th May 2022 to be approved as the minutes (copy attached).

5.   Reports from District and County Councillors and Police if available 

6.   To co-opt a new parish councillor.

c)   Letter of thanks from LIVES for our donation.

9.   Report from Jubilee – The afternoon tea at the village hall was a great success.  Over 50 people attended and the cakes were excellent.  The scarecrow competition was also well supported and the traffic seemed to slow down a little whilst they were on display.  Maybe this could become an annual event?  A grant of £350 has been received from ELDC and also £113.50 in cash has been raised from the afternoon tea.  Perhaps this cash and the Christmas Quiz cash (£39) can be used for planters/plants in the village?

10.   Report from West Ashby Day – In blazing sunshine the second West Ashby Day took place.  The Church and Churchyard have had a good clean and spruce up.  A picnic lunch was enjoyed in the shade of the Yew Tree and two history talks were well received in the afternoon.  Following a short service to round off the afternoon we adjourned to the village hall for a BBQ and meet the neighbours chat.  This was attended by over 50 people.  A mural has also been created and once complete it is hoped will be framed and installed in the village hall.  The Church committee also organised an auction of promises which raised nearly £600.

11.   LIVES – Annual Service Agreement for Defibrillator £180.00 – to formally agree this agreement.

12.   Lincolnshire Minerals & Waste Local Plan – consultation period.

13.   Highways and drainage matters – does anyone have anything to report?

15.   Finance matters, to approve payments for and to note income since last meeting

a)   £350 grant has been received from ELDC

b)   £656.58 VAT reclaim has been received from HMRC

c)   £180 plus VAT for LIVES Service agreement for Defibrillator
