September 2022 DRAFT Minutes

West Ashby Parish Council

Minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on Wednesday 28th September 2022 in West Ashby Village Hall.

Those councillors present were Cllrs Mrs A Radcliffe, Mrs S Summerlin Benton and J Bunster.  

Zoom – C Graves & R Atkin House.  Also present clerk Mrs K Elliott and C Cllr Mrs P Bradwell.

The Public Forum started at 7.40 pm.

PUBLIC FORUM: Cllr Bradwell gave her report during the public forum; there is an underspend at County Council and therefore more money has been released to be spent on highways improvements.  We were also advised that we have a new Highways Officer.

The meeting commenced at 7.42pm

2022/128   Mr Bunster welcomed everyone to the meeting.

2022/129   Apologies – were received from Mr Edwards and D Cllr D Andrews.

2022/130   There were no declarations of interest.

2022/131   To Co-opt a new councillor.  The candidate who wishes to join the parish council is unable to attend this evening and will be co-opted at the November meeting.

2022/132   Clerk’s report on matters outstanding and correspondence

a)   Signs for Gateways: The gates are now up and members discussed the wording for the signs to go onto the gates.  The clerk was requested to write to the LRSP to advise them of all the measures we have put in place, our closeness to the Wildlife park, the school within our parish and sadly that there has been a third fatality within the parish boundary.  Invite them to a meeting and our County Councillor will assist where possible.

2022/133   Planning Matters

a)   Enforcement – Lindisfarne.  JB will chase ELDC regarding this matter.

b)   Enforcement – Land of Main Street EC/201/00423/22.  RAH advised that there are 4 conditions in breach and ELDC are aware.  A further letter is to be sent to enforcement.

c)   S/201/01775/22 – Wolds View.  Members discussed the increase in the width of the drive and noted concerns over access on the main road plus previous applications were also discussed.  It was proposed, seconded and RESOLED to support this application.

d)   S/201/01820/22, 1 The Bungalow.  This application was discussed and it was felt that this was over development of this site.  The single storey garage is acceptable but the two storey proposal is not.  Therefore it is RESOLVED to object this proposal.

e)   The clerk is aware of another application at Hall Farm and this matter was discussed, members RESOLVED to support this application.

2022/134   Next Meeting

a)   The next parish council meeting will be held on Wednesday 12th October 2022.

There being no further business the meeting closed at 8.05 pm.
